The Small but Nice Town of Lake Butler

Lake Butler, FL

Dear Everyone,

It's good to hear everything is going well back home. I'm also glad to hear that Brother Jarvis called home as well. He is a great guy and he truly has done everything he possibly could to help us out, here in Florida...

Lake Butler is a small, small town, but it is a very nice little town. It is certainly different than anything I have ever been used to, but the people are kind. The very first day in this area, we were fed by three different members. They are going to take care of us for sure. There are farms everywhere and cattle everywhere as well. There are forests and swamps, and long dirt roads scattered throughout the city. It may be a little difficult learning all the random side streets, but over time, Elder Bagley and I will figure it out. The ward, however,is quite a bit bigger than I expected--but it's made up mostly of a few very large families as well as a few smaller ones here and there.

My new companion is also a good guy. His very first companion, his MTC companion, was my trainer, Elder Pelo--go figure. We get along well and we're going to be working very hard this transfer. There is a lot of work for us to do. I also believe that we are going to be speaking in Sacrament meeting in a couple of weeks. Hopefully the ward will get to know us and trust us better, that way we'll be able to get referrals from the members. The work will be better that way.

I'm glad to hear the (baseball) team is still doing their best, despite being nervous. I'm sure if they stick together that they will be able to win it all. I hope that they do and I hope they don't give up on each other, but stay strong. If they do that, they will win...

I'm about out of time, but I want you to know I love you all. Mom, Dad, Aaron, Billy, Kendall--you're always in my prayers and in my heart. I will talk to you next week, as well as fill you in on some more details about the area and the people!

Love,
Austin
ps. Elder Nelson this weekend! Oh yeah, I'm in the Lake City Zone. Elder Nelson is coming to the Lake City Stake Center to speak and I'll be one of the first there, haha! Love U!
